The Reel: Marsai Martin brings to life an American Girl Story

When I was younger, my mother felt it was very important that I had dolls that looked like me. One of those dolls for me was the Addy doll by American Girl. Amazon partnered with American Girl Story to create a four part series about young girls facing different challenges. 

Black-ish star, Marsai Martin portrays Melody who is faced with racial inequality after the 1963 church bombing of four little girls in Birmingham, Alabama. Set during the Civil Rights Movement, Melody's character rises above the inequalities she faces to live and pursue of her dreams. Check out the show on Amazon Prime on October 21st.
