The 5 Interview: Money Makin' Nique

The 5 Interview: Money Makin' Nique

Since hitting the scene in 2013 , Money Makin' Nique has released a consistently impressive body of work. The release of his 201 4 EP "Guyana Gold" successfully cemented his position in Atlanta's new wave of artists who have revolutionized what the world has come to expect of Atlanta Hip-Hop. It also kicked off a whirlwind year of powerful performances and dominating collaborations with other acts at the forefront of the city's rising new movement, including Two9, ForteBowie, EarthGang and Rich Homie Quan. In the summer of 2014, he released the "Lucky Buddha" EP with fellow Atlanta innovator J.I.D.; and played a starring role in producer Slade Da Monsta's compilation project "Hotter Than July 19th," which put Nique alongside Big K.R.I.T., Trinidad James, Lloyd, India Shawn and Marian Mereba, to name a few. Each of his collaborations to date have proven two things about Money Makin' Nique: while his laid-back, East-coast influenced style stands in sharp contrast with most of his collaborators, his cognac-laced, aggressively polished flow is also the perfect complement to any artist he works with. In 2014, Nique also proved that he has the versatility to captivate any audience with his tales of glamour, struggle and love (or lust) with little effort, all while staying true to himself. Appearing on stages alongside many of the aforementioned artists; established artists like 2 Chainz, Curren$y and Juvenile; and festival stages at A3C, Art Basel, CMJ and SXSW, Nique has further proven that ability in person.
