The Reel: Regimagine Iconic Films with African Characters
Senegalese Omar Victor Diop and French-American Antoine Tempe partnered for a project called [re-Mixing Hollywood]. The project takes classic American and European films are re-imagines them with African models. In their artist manifesto, Diop and Tempe write "Cinema is probably the form of art that is the most universal, as it transcends all barriers, be they geographic, cultural, or racial". Some of the films they remixed include "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "The Matrix" and "Frida"
