The Soundtrack: Damn Ingrid!
In a 2013, interview with Billboard Beyonce described her management company Parkwood Entertainment as an opportunity for her "to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have [her] own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success—you do it yourself.” Two years later, we are finally getting an chance to meet the roster of Beyonce's Parkwood Entertainment. Recently, she signed three young ladies - two sisters Chloe and Halle and soloist Sophie to 5 year contracts worth about $1.5 million dollars.
Aside from these three young ladies, Beyonce has also signed her friend and creative collaborator Ingrid. You can hear Ingrid's southern gritty influences on "Bow Down" and "Flawless". Ingrid described her single "Double Pedigree" as "one of my favorite tracks because its so slow, and it's a song I know everyone can hear every last thing I'm saying. I'm into embracing who I am and the skin I'm in. I grew up kind of the peculiar, awkward girl, people always want to place labels on me. I'm a grown woman, I like what I like. I'm Ingrid." to Fader.
